Two dead, 43 injured in road mishap in Tripura

Agartala, Sep 25 (UNI) At least two people, including Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawan, were killed and 43 others injured when a TSR vehicle collided head on with a passenger bus coming from an opposite direction today.

Police said the incident occurred under Bishramganj police station in West Tripura, about 40 Kms from here, when a vehicle of the TSR's 5th battalion was coming towards Agartala .

The driver of TSR vehicle Rifleman Abdul Jalil died on the spot.

A woman passenger of the bus expired on way to hospital, police stated adding that 31 out of 43 injured were TSR jawans and all of them have been shifted to Agartala Govt Medical College.

Meanwhile, four of the injured persons were stated to be critical.
