Patna, Sep 25 (UNI) Life was today disrupted in the state capital as unabated rain accompanied by gale continued to lash most parts of Bihar for the last two days.

The local Met office said a depression over the Bay of Bengal was presently settled over Bihar. It was responsible for the widespread rain. The temperature in the city and its neighbouring districts also reduced substantially.

Low lying areas were inundated because of the incessant rain.

The strong wind uprooted trees at several places and mud houses collapsed due to heavy downpour in the remote areas. Patna was reeling under severe power crisis since yesterday.

Predicting mainly cloudy sky with widespread rainfall during the next 24 hours, the local Met office said it had so far recorded 119.2 mm rain with the temperature varying between 27.8 degrees Celsius and 23.4 degree Celsius in Patna. The maximum relative humidity was pegged at 100 per cent this morning, they added.

Munger and Muzaffarpur experienced 175 mm and 151 mm rainfall during the last 24 hours. Bhagalpur recorded 124 mm, Samastipur 90 mm, Khagaria 110 mm and Darbhanga 138 mm rain.
