Tension in Khamgaon during Ganesh immersion procession

Nagpur, Sep 25 (UNI) There was tension after an alleged stone pelting during a Lord Ganesh immersion procession at Khamgaon in Buldhana district of Vidarbha region in Maharashtra today.

According to police, miscreants threw stones and footwear on those participating in the procession as it passed a place of religious worship this evening. One person was hurt in the incident.

Prohibitory orders have been imposed and men from the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), besides an anti-riot squad from Buldhana, have been deployed in the town. The situation was tense but under control, they added.
