Six killed in road accident in Orissa

Sambalpur, Sep 25: Six people were killed and five others injured, some of them critically, when the car in which they were travelling hit a roadside tree near Jujumara, about 45 km from here, late last night.

Police said while five of the occupants of the car died on the spot while one succumbed to his injuries at the Sambalpur Sadar Hospital here. The victims were yet to be identified.

All the injured were admitted to hospital in an unconscious state. The vehicle, sources said, was coming from Puri when the accident happened.

Police suspect that the victims belonged to somewhere outside the state. Investigations were on to identify the deceased and the injured.
