Pak values ties with UK: Sherpao

Islamabad, Sep 25: Pakistan treasures its relations with United Kingdom and the ties between the two countries will receive a further boost in the future, Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has said.

''Pakistan and the UK are coalition partner in the war on terrorism and are playing their due role in wiping out the menace in all its forms and manifestations,'' the minister said while talking to British High Commissioner to Pakistan Robert Brinkley here yesterday.

Pakistan had a very safe, secure and conducive environment for foreign investment and lot of foreign investors and leading companies were coming to invest in the country, he added.

''Due to prudent policies of President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, the country is on the road to progress and development,'' he noted.

The British High Commissioner lauded the efforts of Pakistan to stamp out terrorism.

Hoping for better relations between the two countries, Mr Brinkley said, ''We value our relations with Pakistan and both the countries are enjoying cordial ties, which are gaining momentum with the passage of time.'' Interior Secretary Syed Kamal Shah and National Crisis Management Cell Director General Brigadier Javed Iqbal Cheema were also present in the meeting.
