Paddy procurement starts in Punjab from September 26

Chandigarh , Sep 25 (UNI) The Punjab Government has decided to commence procurement of Paddy/levy rice from September 26, 2007 instead of October one, 2007 as announced earlier.

The procurement date has been advanced as per the guidelines of the Government of India not only in Punjab but also in Rajasthan, Kerala and Haryana.

A spokesman of the Punjab Government said that necessary instructions had been issued to concerned state agencies to ensure implementation of the decision.
