Pachouri stresses on job-oriented education

Jabalpur, Sep 25 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Personnel Suresh Pachouri has said that employment-oriented higher education was the need of the hour therefore universities should make serious efforts in this direction.

''While following NAAC norms, the local Rani Durgawati University's administration should try to disseminate higher education in remote and rural areas,'' he said yesterday while addressing the inaugural function of the varsity's art gallery.

Mentioning that he received a proposal to accord central status to the University, from its Vice-Chancellor S M P Khurana, Mr Pachouri assured that he would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Human Resource Minister Arjun Singh in this regard.
