Orange County opens new resort in Kabini in Mysore district

Bangalore, Sep 25 (UNI) Orange County Resorts and Hotels today announced opening of its new luxury resort on the banks of the river Kabini in Karnataka.

Talking to newspersons here, Vice Chairman Abe T Ramapuram said the new location retained the values of respect for the purity of nature and culture of the land. The property was spread across 17 acres involving an investment of Rs 20 crore.

Replying to queries, he said the cottages had been built using a high degree of local environment friendly material to blend with the surroundings. It offered two kinds of tribal themed suites -- 26 Jacuzzi huts and eight pool huts. Both featured a spacious bedroom, en-suite bathroom, a separate living room and two sit outs designed in the inimitable style of local Kadu Kuruba community people.

A reverse Osmosis plant, installed in each room, provided 100 per cent safe drinking water reducing impact of use of plastic bottles.

A dedicated windmill at a cost of Rs 3.2 crore ensured supply of clean environment friendly power to the resort, he explained.

Answering a question, he said two more resorts would be developed -- one in Hampi involving 27 acres and a portion of 22 acre land near Kengeri near the city in next two years. Another one at Karwar in an area of 45 acres would also be developed, he added.

He said Rs 100 crore would be invested in developing resorts at Hampi and Karwar and another Rs 30 crore would be spent on the Kengeri project. The company had plans to go for IPO to raise Rs 100 crore in next three years, he revealed.
