MP govt mulling farm loans at 5 pc interest
Bhopal, Sep 25 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government is mulling a scheme to provide loans at a mere 5 per cent interest rate to farmers, Public Health Engineering Minister Chaudhary Chandrabhan Singh has said.
''I hope that a decision will be taken soon in this direction.
The government is according foremost priority to enhancing irrigation facilities and lack of funds will not be allowed to be a constraint,'' he said while addressing a farmers' convention at Chhindwara's Regional Agriculture Research Centre yesterday.
While suggesting to peasants to go in for bamboo cultivation and horticulture, the Minister said that maximum use of biofertiliser was imperative to prevent fertile land from becoming barren.
