Modi pays rich tributes to Krishnamurthi

Ahmedabad, Sep 25 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi expressed his grief and deep sorrow over the demise of former BJP President and veteran RSS leader K Jana Krishnamurthy who died at a private hospital in Chennai this morning.

Paying rich tributes to the veteran leader, Mr Modi said, ''As a sitting member of Rajya Sabha from Gujarat, he always took keen interest in the development of Gujarat and the issues related to public interest. He made strong representation before the Union Government for the development of our state.'' Mr Modi said party workers would derive inspiration from his devoted and valuable services rendered to the party. ''He remained an ideal worker who selflessly served the party in different cadres and capacities for a very long period.'' In his death, the whole country has lost a prominent leader and ideal worker, he added.

Krishnamurthy was elected to Rajya Sabha from Gujarat in July 2002 and became Law Minister in NDA Government same year.
