Jeep crushes student, mob stages dharna

Deoband, Saharanpur, Sep 25: A mob staged a 'dharna' on the Saharanpur-Muzaffarnagar highway after a girl student was crushed under the wheels of a speeding jeep in Deoband area.

According to police, Radha along with her cousin Manoj was en route to school yesterday morning, when the duo were hit by the jeep.

While Radha died instantly, her sibling was rushed to the Meerut Medical College in a life threatening condition.

Irked over the incident, a mob led by villagers staged a demonstration on the Saharanpur-Muzaffarnagar highway, leading to traffic jam for a couple of hours.

The jam could only be cleared after senior police officials reached at the spot.
