JD(S) appeals to DMK, BJP to keep cool on Ram Sethu

Madurai, Sep 25 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu unit of the Janata Dal(Secular) today appealed to the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the BJP to give up their protests over the Ram Sethu issue.

In a statement here, JD(S) State General Secretary K John Moses described the BJP's slogan ''we will construct Ram temple in the north and protect Ram Sethu in the south,'' as ''cheap politics'', aimed at fanning religious sentiments to regain power at the Centre.

''The party State unit wants the Sethusamudram Shipping Channel Project to be implemented,'' he added.
