Indian Sugar hazardous to health, Lahore HC told
Islamabad, Sep 25 (UNI) Sugar imported from India is hazardous to health, two leading scientific institutions of Pakistan today said.
Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) and Pakistan Standard Control Authority (PSCA) submitted the chemical test report of the sugar in the Lahore High Court stating that the sugar imported from India was of low grade and not fit for consumption, Geo TV reported.
The court, during the hearing of petitions against import of Indian sugar had asked the PCSIR and PSCA to chemically examine the imported Indian sugar.
The report said the consumption of such sugar was injurious to health and marketing and sale of Indian sugar should not be allowed in Pakistan.
