Girl drowned in Puri beach

Puri, Sep 25 (UNI) A 20-year old girl drowned in the sea here while her two sisters were rescued by the fishermen.

Seven members of a family from Birbhum, West Bengal had arrived at the city and were bathing in the sea when the accident took place, police said.

The policemen on duty advised them not to go to the sea as it was furious. They were bathing on the shore when a giant wave washed three of them away.

While two were rescued by the fishermen, another was drowned in the sea. Her body was later fished out, police added.
