Computer equipment stolen from office of Collectorate

Nagpur, Sep 25 (UNI) Computer material worth Rs 1.28 lakh has been stolen from an office on the premises of the District Collectorate here.

According to the police, unidentified thieves broke open the iron grill on the window of the 'Setu Office' (public facilitation counter) and fled with 12 TFT (thin film transistor liquid crystal display) screen monitors, 3 RAM (random access memory) sticks and a hard disk.

The theft took place some time between the evening of September 21 and the morning of September 24. The theft was discovered yesterday morning, the police added.

The police has registered an offence under sections 454 (lurking house trespass or house breaking) and 457 (lurking house trespass or house breaking by night) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), but no arrests have been made so far.
