Hyderabad, Sep 25 (UNI) Bomb scare call received by the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) here, where the five day International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2007) was inaugurated yesterday, turned out to be a hoax.

A leading multilingual news channel scrolled that the HICC reception centre had received an anonymous call this evening saying that a bomb was planted in the Centre and would go off any time.

Alerted by the call, bomb squads and sniffer dogs were pressed into service. More than 3,000 delegates from abroad and India were attedning the conference in HICC.

However, no explosive material was found in the search.

Security had been tightened at Cyberabad, where the Centre was located.

Meanwhile, police had denied the bomb threat to the HICC.
