Baalu approves road repair works in Gujarat

New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) The Centre has approved a sum of Rs. 4907.57 lakh for strengthening and widening of 23 road stretches in different parts of Gujarat for a total length of Rs. 253.33 km.

The approval has been given by Road Transport and Highways Minister T.R. Baalu under the Central Road Fund (CRF) Scheme of the Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Ministry.

An amount of Rs. 2639.52 lakh has been sanctioned for strengthening and widening various stretches of the State Highways for a total length of 99.8 km in the districts of Amhedabad, Anand, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Banaskantha, Gandhinagar, Godhara, Bharuch, Surat and Navsari.

An amount of Rs. 664.32 lakh has been approved for construction of a service road parallel to NH-8C at Chiloda-Gandhinagar Section and another service road parallel to the same highway at Chiloda-Gandhinagar-Sarkhej Road.

Further, an amount of Rs. 1603.73 lakh has been approved for strengthening various stretches of Major District Roads (MDRs) at a total length of 146.53 km in the districts of Sabarkantha, Patan, Panchmahal, Dahod, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar and Amreli.
