2 bookies, 5 gamblers arrested for betting on Indo-Pak T20 final

Nagpur, Sep 25 (UNI) The Crime Branch has arrested two bookies while accepting bets on the final match between India and Pakistan in the Twenty20 cricket tournament, and five others gambling on the game.

According to the police, the bookies, identified as Tekchand Tulsidas Lekwani (42) and his son Anil Tekchand Lekwani (20), were nabbed from their residence here last night while accepting bets over mobile phones.

The police also seized six mobile phone handsets, a television set, a diary containing a log of the bets placed, and Rs 6,300 in cash, from them.

In another raid on a residential apartment, five persons were arrested while gambling on the match last night, the police said.

Cash worth Rs 40,000, mobile phones and two television sets were seized from them, the police added.
