Rupee keeps moving up; opens at 39.83/85/USD

Mumbai, Sep 24: The Rupee kept moving up and opened at 39.83/85 per US Dollar as it further took a leap of another six paise against Dollar as compared to the previous close of 39.90 per Dollar, in a volatile Inter-Bank Foreign Exchange Market today.

Opening firm in the early session, the Indian unit gained strength due to heavy inflows and continued selling of the Dollar in the market. Currently it was trading at 39.81/82 per Dollar (1230 hrs) and expected to gain further, dealers said.
