Rain disrupted all long distance train services

Kolkata, Sep 24 (UNI) Heavy rains and waterlogging across south Bengal disrupted all train services both Eastern Railway and South Eastern Railway today.

Water logging at Howrah yard and Kolkata terminal forces the authorities to cancel/divert/terminate and rescheduled at different sections, railway officials said.

Trains rescheduled: 1. 1448 Up Howrah-Jabalpur Express will leave Howrah at 1540 hours today instead of its scheduled departure at 1430 hours.

2. 3049 Up Howrah-Amritsar Express will leave Howrah at 1600 hours today instead of its scheduled departure at 1400 hours.

3. 9306 Up Shipra Express will leave Howrah at 2015 hours tonight instead of its scheduled departure at 1740 hours.

4. 3151 up, Jammu Tawi Express will run from Sealdah instead of Kolkata terminal today and will leave Sealdah at 1400 hours today instead of its scheduled departure at 1145 hours from Kolkata station.

Diversion of Trains: 1. 3151 Up Jammu-Tawi Express, 3145 Up Kolkata-Radhikapur Express, 5047 Up Purvanchal Express, 3111 Up Lalquila Express, 107 Up Kolkata Lalgola Pasenger will leave from Sealdah instead of Kolkata station today.

2. 215 Up Vishwabharati Fast Passenger will leave from Bandel insteadof Howrah today.

3. 213 Up Howrah-Mokama Pasenger will leave from Barddhaman instead of Howrah today.

4. 209 Up Howrah-Darbhanga Passenger of 25 September, 2007 will leave from Bardaman instead of Howrah on September 25, 2007.

The rain also submerged the EMU car shed, coaching depot at Tikiapara and Jheel Siding at Howrah yard, maintenance of rakes were severely affected causing delay in train running.

A latest report said water logging at Kolkata station and Chitpur South cabin area, trains could not be terminated and originated to and from Kolkata station today. Trains were diverted to Sealdah station.

Reports said delayed in departure of trains were 8 Up Howrah-Jabalpur Express, the 3049 Up Howrah-Amritsar Express, the 9308 Up Shipra Express, the 3151 Up Jammu Tawi Express, Trains Short Terminated/Originated on 25.9.07 1. 3012 Dn Malda Town-Howrah Intercity Express to be terminated at Bandel and 3011 Up will originate from there.

2. 3024 Dn Gaya-Howrah Express will terminate at Rampurhat and 3023 Up will originate from there 3. 3040 Dn Delhi-Howrah Janata Express will terminate at Asansol and 3039 Up originate from there.

4. 3007 Up Toofan Express and 3049 Up Amritsar Express will originate from Asansol.

5. 2340 Coalfield Express will terminate at Barddhaman and 2339 Up originate from there.

6. 218 Dn Mayurakshi Fast Passenger will terminate at Barddhaman and 217 Up will originate from there.

Diversion of trains on 25.9.07 5960 Dn Kamrup Express will terminate at Sealdah instead of Howrah and will originate from Sealdah as 5959 Up 1447 Dn Jabalpur-Howrah Express will terminate at Sealdah instead of Howrah and will originate from Sealdah as 1448 Up Train cancelled on 24.9.97 3039 Up, Howrah-Delhi Janata Express cancelled tonight Train cancelled on 25,9.07 2342 Dn Agniveena Express from Asansol 2019 Up/2020 Dn Howrah-Ranchi Shatabdi Express 3061 Up-Howrah-Siuri Hool Express 3071 Up-Howrah Jamalpur Express 204 Dn Azimganj-Howrah Passenger Train services on Howrah-Kharagpur division of SER have been rescheduled or short teriminated.

Short terminated: 2828 Purulia-Howrah Express will be short terminated at Santragachi and will run as 2827 from Santragachi to Purulia. The train will remain cancelled between Santragachi-Howrah Santragachi. The 2074 Bhubaneswar-Howrah Janshatabdi Express will be short terminated at Kharagpur and will run as 2073from Kharagpur to Bhubaneswar. The train will remain cancelled between Kharagpur-Howrah-Kharagpur.

The 8410 Sri Jagannath Express will be short terminated at Santragachi.

The 468 Bhadrak-Howrah Passenger will be short terminated at Kharagpur.

Trains rescheduled on 24.09.07: 8645 Howrah-Hyderabad East Coast Express has been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 16.30 hrs. instead of 11.45 hrs.

the Howrah-Mumbai Geetanjali Express has been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 1800 hrs.

The 2841 Howrah-Chennai Coromandel Express has been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 1900 hrs.
