Youth shot dead, another wounded over eveteasing

Amritsar, Sep 23 (UNI) A youth was gunned down while another was wounded by two youths over an eveteasing incident in Fathubhilla village in Amritsar rural district, police today said.

According to SSP Iqbal Singh, the victims identified as Gurjinder Singh and Dilbagh Singh had allegedly teased two girls, Harmit Kaur and Babbu at Chiwanda Devi temple near here.

The two girls later informed their two friends, Bhupinder Singh and Balwinder Singh, about the incident, who, rushed after the eveteasers and shot at them with a 12 bore double barrel gun.

The assailants then fled from the scene.

The SSP said that a case had been registered against the two accused and was conducting raids to trace the absconding youths.

In another incident in the same district, an aged woman was attacked by sharp-edged weopon and then doused with acid by unknown assailants in her home in village Rajewal last night, police said.

The woman, identified as Pal Kaur, was rushed to nearby hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
