DST develops National Outreach Missions

Hyderabad, Sept 23: Science&Technology Secretary T Ramasami said HAS department has developed national Outreach Missions in priority areas such as Municipal Solid Waste, Bamboo applications, Intellectual Property Rights with the Andhra Pradesh Technology Development Centre (APTDC) functioning as a Centre of Excellence in this.

Talking to newspersons here on the sidelines of chairing the Sixth Governing Body Meeting of APTDC here, Dr Ramasami emphasised the need to inculcate social responsibility in technology initiatives which is essential to spawn widespread benefits across all sections of our Society.

This mission had been made possible through a sustained support and partnership of Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) with the State Government and Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) under DST, a press release said here yesterday.
