DMK activists attack BJP headquarters in TN

Chennai, Sep 23: The BJP headquarters at T Nagar area in the city was attacked by the activists of the ruling DMK to condemn the 'fatwa' issued by a former BJP MP against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi for his remarks on 'Lord Ram and Ramayana'.

Police sources said about 500 DMK workers, headed by party T Nagar District Secretary J Anbazhagan, assembled in front of the BJP headquarters ''Kamalalayam'' at Vaidhyaraman Street to stage a demonstration.

The slogan shouting demonstration turned violent when stones were pelted at the protesting DMK workers in which two people sustained injuries.

The DMK men retaliated and attacked the BJP office with stones and other missiles, damaging the window panes.
