Kathmandu, Sep 23 (UNI) The Yoga Camp of Swami Ramdev, which was suspended yesterday for security reasons, resumed today at Tundikhel here.

Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel inaugurated the session attended by more than 20,000 followers. The camp will be on till Thursday, Nepal news reported.

The government, however, remained tight-lipped about the perceived threat that resulted in rescheduling of the Yoga Camp.

The Kathmandu District Administration said security would be beefed up for the remaining sessions of the camp.

A media interaction, organised at the camp venue, yesterday clarified that the Yoga Camp would continue unabated from today morning.

Maoist leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara took an exception to some media reports that the camp was put-off due to Maoist threat saying, ''Such baseless, misleading propaganda is a conspiracy of the regressive forces against the people's desire for a Republic and peace,'' the newspaper reported.

He added, ''We believe that the camp should run smoothly. And, we request everyone to be assured of our belief.'' Thousands of followers had to return yesterday after receiving a last-minute confirmation that the Yoga Camp was cancelled for a day.
