7 landmines, ammunition unearthed in AP


Warangal, Sep 23: A special police party today unearthed seven landmines, ammunition and rifles from seperate areas in this district of Andhra Pradesh.

Police said seven landmines, each weighing two kg fixed in steel boxes, were unearthed at Chalpaka village here.

Meanwhile, three SBBL guns and 440 live ammunition of various weapons were recovered at Komatlagudem village in Kothaguda mandal.

Police also arrested a courier of CPI (Maoist) at Chelvai village, based on information provided by the locals.

The arrested was identified as R Ashok Kumar, a courier of North Telangana Maoist Party Committee member Ganesh, police added.
