Swami Ramdev's Yoga Camp cancelled for today

Kathmandu, Sep 22 (UNI) Swami Ramdev's Yoga Camp in Tudhikhel, for which thousands of people had gathered, has been cancelled due to security reasons.

According to the police, the six-day camp, scheduled to begin today, could not be held for the day.

Huge traffic jams were witnessed in Tudikhel area where thousands of followers and admirers spread across the country had arrived since yesterday to participate in the camp. They all returned home following the cancellation.

About 700 policemen are providing security during the camp.

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala was scheduled to inaugurate the Yoga camp at 0445 hrs today.

According to the organisers, more than 12,500 tickets had been sold and 2,000 free passes distributed to the poor, sick and disabled.
