Kathmandu, Sep 22 (UNI) Dismissing some Indian media reports which alleged that the Maoists were behind the cancellation of Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev's camp, the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist has called the reports ''unfounded''.

In a statement, Maoist spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara said,''We believe that the camp should run smoothly. And, we request everyone to be assured of our belief.'' A report, citing unknown sources that Swami Ramdev was in danger due to the Maoist threat in Nepal, was broadcast today by a leading Indian news channel, Kantipur reported here.

''Such baseless, misleading propaganda is a conspiracy of the regressive forces against the people's desire for republic and peace,'' Mr Mahara said.

''We request the common people and the camp organisers not to be misled by such unfounded news-reports,'' he added.

''What we want to make it clear is that the Government of Nepal has itself stopped the camp under different pretexts while the talks on the camp were held last night with the concerned sides,'' he mentioned.

Swami Ramdev's Yoga camp was scheduled to start at 0500 hrs today at Tundikhel in Kathmandu. However, it was postponed for tomorrow morning due to security reasons.
