Punjab will reject Rs 675 per qtl MSP for paddy: Capt Singh

Fatehgarh Sahib, Sept 22 (UNI) Punjab Cooperation Minister Capt Kanwaljit Singh said that SAD-BJP alliance government will not accept Rs 675 per quintal Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy crops.

''The government will reject MSP as the farmers will not even get the cost price of their crop,'' Capt Singh said while talking to media persons after presiding over a function of truck union at Amloh in this district.

He claimed that previously the Congress was not in favour of truck operators and had even planned to impose ban on truck unions, but SAD did not allow them to do so.

Capt Singh added that the government will soon announce a package for small truck operators.
