Municipality officials nabbed

Durg, Chhattisgarh, Sep 22 (UNI) A local Municipality Chairperson, her deputy and two corporators were arrested today in a case relating to assault of a chief executive officer (CEO), police said.

CEO Krishna Khatik lodged a complaint nine months back against Chairperson Sawana Bai, her deputy Bunty Chawla, corporators Baisakhu Sahu and Panchu Sahu. The CEO moved the High Court as a police inquiry was not initiated.

Following a court directive, the arrested were executed under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The Sessions Court rejected a bail plea.
