IGNOU introduces Intl Phd programme

New Delhi, Sep 22: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) today announced the launch of an International PhD programme.

It will be available in various disciplines viz PhD in Education, English, Hindi, Physics, Economics, Library&Information Science, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology and Tourism Studies, Commerce and Management, Mathematics, Social Work, Women's Studies, Rural Development, Child Development and Distance education.

''The Doctoral Studies Programmes aims at training professionals and teachers in the skills and competences related to the systematic investigation of various issues and problems in the area of their study,'' said an IGNOU spokesperson.

The prospectus will have a PDF version and shall be made available through IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in and will be made available to aspirants through email attachment.

The applications will be received at International Division, IGNOU and will be forwarded to School of Studies concerned through Student Registration&Evaluation Division (SRED) of the University.

There shall be two sessions for PhD- January and July. Applications received by September 30 and March 31 will be considered for admission to the January and July sessions, respectively.
