Two thieves run away from police custody

Sangrur, Sept 21 (UNI) Two thieves ran away from police custody in Malerkotla town in the district last night, police said today.

SSP Arun Pal Singh said the two thieves, Babu and Goushal, who were on police remand in a theft case, ran away from city police station last night.

The SSP said that he had suspended Munshi Ravinder Singh and Home Guard jawan Kirpal Singh for negligence of duty as both of them were on duty at the police station when the thieves escaped from custody.
