Shyam Century Group to devp port at Baliharchandi

Bhubaneswar, Sep 21: A consortium of the Shyam Century Group of Industries has expressed keen interest to set up an all weather port at Baliharchandi in Puri.

With the help of a powerpoint presentation before Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here, the representatives of the Rs 3,000 crore company expressed their intention to invest Rs 1,900 crore in the project in two phases, official sources said here yesterday.

The Kolkota-based company which has carved out a name for itself in steel, cement and plywood sector in Eastern India wanted to invest Rs 1,000 crore in the first phase.

However, the chief minister asked the company to submit a detailed proposal for consideration by the government.
