Inflation tumble down to 3.32 per cent

For
the
14th
week
in
succession,
the
inflation
rate
fell
further
to
3.32
per
cent
for
the
week
ended
September
8
from
the
previous
week's
3.52
per
cent,
primarily
due
to
decline
in
prices
of
energy.
The annual inflation rate was at 5.52 per cent during the corresponding week of the previous year, an official statement said here today.
The index for the group comprising--fuel power, light and lubricant-- declined by 0.1 per cent the previous week due to lower prices of naphtha (two per cent). However, the prices of furnace oil (one per cent) moved up.
The group has weight of 14.23 per cent in the Wholesale Price Index.
