CPM (Pasla) condemns alteration in Jalianwala Bagh structure

Jalandhar, Sept 21 (UNI) The Communist Party Marxist (CPM) (Pasla) has condemned the move of the Punjab Tourism Department and Amritsar Administration to make alterations in the original structure of the historic Jalianawala Bagh Memorial, so as make space for parking of VIP vehicles inside the monument.

In a press release issued here today, Punjab CPM secretary Mangat Ram Pasla condemned the move saying that the monument had acquired the status of a shrine amongst the Indian masses because of its historic significance in the anti-imperialist struggle for independence.

In the statement, Mr Pasal lauded the Desh Bhagat Yadhgar Committee here for taking an immediate notice of this development and resolved to extend its full support to nip the move in the bud.
