Call for sharing expertise for integral growth

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 21 (UNI) Defence Research and Development Organisation Chief Controller, Research and Development Officer W Selvamurthy called upon the scientists community to develop an eletronic connectivity-cum-knowledge grid to share the expertise for the development of the nation.

Inaugurating the 28th Annual Conferece of Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists (IABMS) here last night, Dr Selvamurthy urged the scientists at IABMS to recommend measures for the development of the nation.

Stating that a developed country needed growth in economy, military and knowledge, he said India had all the three to trigger an integral growth.

He said the DRDO was ready to forge partnership with any academic institutions, universities for developing new technologies. ''It has life sciences centre at the Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore, high energy material research centre at Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University, Hyderabad and microwave research centre at University of Calcutta,'' he added UNI RV JJ SLD RAI1201
