Nikkei flat, Advantest and Tokyo Electron sold

Tokyo, Sep 20: Japan's Nikkei average ended the morning session flat on Thursday, as chip equipment makers such as Advantest Corp were heavily sold on data showing weak orders, offsetting gains in property and commodity-related shares.

The benchmark Nikkei rose 13.7 points to 16,395.22 by midday.

The broader TOPIX index fell 0.2 percent to 1,564.84.
