Furniture trader gets lifer for murdering another

Sangli, Sep 20 (UNI) A local court today awarded life imprisonment to a 47-year-old furniture trader for murdering another over business rivalry on January 1.

District Sessions Judge N T Batule covicted Jamir Mirza Yashin Sheikh under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and awarded him the sentence.

According to prosecution, Sheikh, a furniture trader from Chintamannagaj area of the city had stabbed to death another trader Anil Datta Salgar (35) at Sambhaji chowk over business rivalry on January 1.

A total of 13 persons stood as witnesses in the court.
