Bush to announce Johanns resigning as Ag Secretary

WASHINGTON, Sep 20 (Reuters) US President George W Bush will announce today that Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns is stepping down, a US official said.

Bush is scheduled to make a personnel announcement at 9:30 am EDT/1900 IST. A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that it concerned Johanns and his decision to leave. News reports have said Johanns would be leaving the administration to run for a US Senate seat from Nebraska.
