Sensex all time high above 16,000

Mumbai, Sep 19 (UNI) The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex today breached the magic 16,000 level to touch an intra-day high of 16,176.88 in opening trade buoyed by the US Federal Reserve's announcement of a 50 basis points cut in fed funds rate to 4.75 per cent from 5.25 per cent.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty also soared above the 4,600 levels to touch an intra-day high of 4,698.20.
