KPCC demands inquiry into vandalism on TN buses

Bangalore, Sep 19(UNI) Condemning the brutal incident in which a Tamil Nadu bus was torched, in which two passengers were charred to death in the city last night, the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjuna Kharge today demanded an inquiry into the failure of State Intelligence over the ghastly act.

Addressing newsmen here, he said that though it was an unfortunate, the incident has reflected the poor law and order situation in the state.

Alleging that the state intelligence department has failed to alert police in both the incident of torching and pelting of stone on the residence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's daughter, Mr Kharge demanded Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to own the responsibility.

"Mr Kumaraswamy who also handles the state intelligence department can not escape his responsibility for the failure", Mr Kharge said.

Accusing that 'Jungle Raj' was prevailing in the state, Mr Kharge said that the incidents had sent wrong signal to the Corporate companies, investors and Software companies. "The state government has totally failed in protecting the life and properties of the residents, and situation will be still worse if BJP assumes power in October" Mr Kharge said.

Demanding the state government to take stern action against the culprits who were responsible for yesterday's violent incidents, Mr Kharge felt that an impartial inquiry should be held to pin down the perperators of the crime.

Referring to heavy rains which was lashing three districts of Northern Karnataka, Mr Kharge demanded the state government to take up relief works on war footing. "Thousands of people were badly affected due to heavy rains and floods however both the coalition partners were engrossed on 'Transfer of Power' Mr Kharge criticised.
