Palanpur, Gujarat, Sep 19 (UNI) Devotees this year will carry a 155 feet long banner on their way to the pilgrim town of Ambaji to attend Poonam mela celebrations there, thereby breaking earlier records.

''Every year, we make banners for the foot march. In 2003, the first banner was made which was 52 ft long. In 2004, it was 101 ft long. In 2005 it was 111 ft. In 2006 it was 125 ft and this year, the size of the banner has been increased to 155 ft,'' Rasikbhai Manilal Sathwara, organiser of Neel Kanth Ambaji Pag Pala Sangh, told UNI. ''Ten persons will carry the banner with 10 sticks to support the longest canvas. About 1000 pedestrians will traverse the 112-km of distance within 4 days to reach Ambaji,'' he said.

''The Pag Pala will be flagged off by the Mehsana Nagar Palika president Meetaben Brhamahat on September 22,'' he added.
