Tirunelveli, Sep 19 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha L K Advani today sought an apology from both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on the 'controversial' affidavit filed in the 'Ram Sethu' case.

Addressing party workers at the two-day annual party state convention here, Mr Advani said, ''Withdrawal of the affidavit is not enough. The Prime Minister and Ms Gandhi should offer an apology.'' ''I was surprised when the affidavit filed by the Centre contended that there was no evidence to prove the existence of the characters or occurrence of events mentioned in the 'Ramayana''.

''I also conveyed my shock over the affidavit to Dr Singh, when I met him at a function organised to honour the Bulgarian Prime Minister,'' he said.
