Xilinx to set up core groups in India

Hyderabad, Sep 18 (UNI) Xilinx India would set up core groups in India to undertake software, systems and application development.

Company Managing Director Mallik Moturi, addressing the press here today said Xilinx India would play a crucial role in the entire chain of global R and D activities, including Intellectual Property (IP) core development, software development and systems and applications.'' ''Xilinx India currently employs about 100 high-end design engineers and plans are afoot to significantly increase our strength of high-end engineers, covering all the three competency areas,'' he added.

Mr Mallik said the centre set up in Hyderabad, would concentrate on domain specific platforms for Xilinx customers in areas like customer electronics, telecommunications, video and connectivity.

The India centre would continue to provide design verification for most IP cores developed by Xilinx globally and offer technical support to its customers, he added.
