Violence sparks off in Vadodara over a trivial issue

Vadodara, Sep 18 (UNI) Tension prevailed in highly sensitive Nani Chipwad area of the city last night when two groups pelted stones at each other over a trivial issue, police today said.

Clashes broke out in the locality after two motorcyclists met with a minor accident. The resulting altercation soon took a violent turn with members of both the groups indulging in heavy brickbatting.

Reports said that two persons were injured in stone pelting and many vehicles were also damaged in the mob violence.

The situation was however, brought under control within 20 minutes after senior police officials rushed to the spot with a strong contingent of policemen.

Police said a case of rioting was registered but no one has been arrested in connection with the incident so far.
