Trent Ltd on Sisley brand's expansion in India

New Delhi, Sep 18: Trent Ltd, a part of Tata Group, said that it will manage and operate Benetton Group's Sisley stores and expand the brand's operations in major cities of the country.

The first shops will open over the next few months, starting with Hyderabad and Bangalore. ''The partnership with the Benetton Group gives us the opportunity to tap the burgeoning premium segment of consumers.

We believe that Sisley has a high potential for growth and we will leverage our experience to optimise the tremendous opportunity,'' Mr Tata said. Trent Ltd, that runs department stores and a music and book store chain, entered into a strategic partnership with the Benetton Group for the Sisley brand's commercial expansion in the country.

The agreement was signed by Benetton Group Deputy Chairman Alessandro Benetton and Trent Ltd Managing Director Noel Tata. The agreement came only a few months after the launch of Sisley's first three pilot stores in Delhi, and these three shops will be directly managed by Trent, a statement said.

The company, over a decade of experience in the country's retail industry, has 39 stores across three formats. Sisley has more than 850 stores around the world, offers a wide choice of clothes for men and women.
