Smack worth 15 lakh seized

New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) A tip-off led to the arrest of a drug peddlar from Nand Nagri area of East Delhi, leading to the seizure of high quality smack worth Rs 15 lakh, even as the police were attacked during.

While Om Prakash was arrested, his associate Bijender managed to escape in the commotion that took place following the raid at his house, police said today.

''High grade smack, weighing 300 gram, was seized from his possession.'' The police team was attacked by supporters and family members of Bijender, when it raided his residence, following interrogation of Om Prakash, to search for some stacked contraband.

An Assistant Sub-Inspector was injured in the attack, police added.
