Naxal commander killed in road accident

Ambikapur, Sep 18 (UNI) Naxalite zonal commander Ram Singh alias Pravin, who carried a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head, was killed in a road accident while attempting to evade chasing police in Koriya district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.

On a tip-off that Ramsingh was moving in Sonhat police station area on a motorcycle, police, in mufti, chased him on Saturday. The two-wheeler rider paced up to give a slip to the police, but dashed against a tree at Vikrampur village.

Jagdev, who was riding the vehicle, died on the spot, while Ramsingh and his another accomplice were seriously injured. They were rushed to the hospital, where Ramsingh succumbed to his injuries, police added.
