Malayalam Playwright P V Kuriakose dead

Kochi, Sep 18 (UNI) Noted Malayalam playwright and screenplay writer P V Kuriakose died here today.

He was 75.

He is survived by his son, Sajan, a senior journalist with Times Group, New York.

Mr Kuriakose had written 23 Malayalam plays. He won the Kerala Sahithya Academy Award in 1972 for his play 'Kuppi Kallukal.' Besides, he had also penned screenplay for five Malayalam films, including 'Lakshmanarekha' and 'Sayanna Swapanagal.' The funeral will take place on Friday noon at St George Orthodox Church near Moovattupuzha, his native place.
