Incorporate moral values into school syllabus: CM

Shimla, Sep 18 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today exhorted state education department to incorporate moral values into the educational curriculum, groom the students in a disciplined way, instill patriotism, nationalism, helping underprivileged sections of the society and promote national integration in the right perspective.

He was addressing the students, teachers and parents of Government Boys Senior Secondary School, Lalpani, here today, after laying the foundation stone of the science laboratory to be constructed at a cost of Rs 60 lakh and announced upgradation of the school to be known as Government Boys Model Senior Secondary School for which necessary infrastructural facilities were being created.

He said the school had the glorious past and a long history since its formation way back in 1848 producing a number of students who had excelled in all fields.

Mr Singh said that state had ranked first in the country in education which had witnessed silent revolution during successive Congress regimes.

He said that compared to only 331 educational institutions at the time of formation of the state in 1948 the state now had a vast net work of over 17,000 while private educational institutions were supplementing the endeavour of quality education being implemented by the state government.
