Fake notes has interstate ramifications
Bhubaneswar, Sep 18 (UNI) Orissa government today admitted that the seizure of fake notes in the state has interstate ramification for which they would seek help from other states to bust the racket.
Orissa Home Secretary TK Mishra told newspersons here that the State Government had advised all police stations, particularly the Urban police stations to remain alert and keep a strict vigil on the circulation of fake notes.
The Home Secretary's statement came in the wake of the seizure of Rs three lakh counterfeit notes from five persons including two couples from a lodge in Cuttack recently.
The five had come from Jharkhand and were nabbed by the police when they tried to buy some goods.
About one and half month back the police also seized counterfeit currency notes worth more than Rs two lakh from the representative of a Andhra Pradesh-based paddy trader from Cuttack.
